AutoRUC automatically purchases distance licences for you if/when the current distance licence gets low.
Pre-requisites
- The vehicle must have a registered EROAD unit installed.
- AutoRUC cannot be purchased via credit card as we do not store your credit card details for security reasons. Please set up a direct debit authority to enable AutoRUC.
- At least one Distance Licence must be purchased through MyEROAD before AutoRUC can be enabled.
Turning AutoRUC On
To turn on AutoRUC for a vehicle:
- In the RUC screen click the AutoRUC icon next to the vehicle.
- In AutoRUC, select On.
- In Distance, select the number of kilometres you wish to purchase.
- In Type, select your Distance Licence Type.
NOTE: If you have re-classified your vehicle, remember to select the new Distance Licence Type. - Read the Terms and Conditions and tick I accept the Terms and Conditions of AutoRUC.
- Click Save.
The vehicle's AutoRUC icon is now green , indicating that AutoRUC is turned on.
Your next Distance Licence will be purchased automatically when your current licence has 250 kilometres left on it.
The AutoRUC invoice will be emailed to the user who turned AutoRUC on.

Editing AutoRUC Settings
To edit AutoRUC settings:
- Click the vehicle's the green AutoRUC icon .
- In Distance, select the number of kilometres you wish to purchase.
- In Type, select your Distance Licence Type.
NOTE: If you have re-classified your vehicle, remember to select the new Distance Licence Type. - Read the Terms and Conditions and tick I accept the Terms and Conditions of AutoRUC.
- Click Save.
The new settings will be used when the next Distance Licence is automatically purchased.
Changing the recipient of AutoRUC notifications
By default, the user who turns on AutoRUC for a vehicle, will receive AutoRUC notifications/invoices for this vehicle.
To change the recipient for AutoRUC notifications:
- The new recipient is required to click the vehicle's green AutoRUC icon .
- In Owner, ensure that Make me the Owner is ticked.
- Read the Terms and Conditions and tick I accept the Terms and Conditions of AutoRUC.
- Click Save.
The new recipient will now receive AutoRUC invoices when a Distance Licence is automatically purchased.
Turning AutoRUC Off
To turn AutoRUC off for a vehicle:
- In the RUC screen click the AutoRUC icon next to the vehicle.
- In AutoRUC, select Off.
- Click Save.
The AutoRUC icon is now grey , indicating that AutoRUC is turned off.
The AutoRUC settings will be stored in case AutoRUC is turned on again in the future, however no further AutoRUC purchases will be made.
