Ehubos lists all Ehubos and other EROAD hardware units provisioned to your company.
A 'hardware unit' is an EROAD unit used for the GPS tracking of vehicles or assets, but dashcam hardware is excluded, and accessed through the Dashcams page.
Status Column
- Install Required: the hardware unit has not yet been installed onto your vehicle.
- Customer to Assign: the hardware unit has been physically installed, but needs to be assigned to the correct vehicle in Depot.
- Installed: the hardware unit has been installed and assigned to a vehicle.
- Installed - RMA Pending: the hardware unit is awaiting swap-out.
Clicking an action link starts the process for that action. Have information handy on the relevant units and vehicles for the status change. This might include registration, service/vehicle plan info, odometer readings, and associated details.
Listed actions may differ, depending on jurisdiction.
View all your EROAD units
- To view all units in your company, tick the checkbox Include Installed.
The default view shows only units which are pending install, or waiting to be assigned to a vehicle.
Assign a unit to a vehicle/asset
-
Find the hardware unit's serial number that you want to assign and click Assign to Vehicle. The ‘Assign Ehubo to a vehicle’ page opens.
-
Select the vehicle/asset in which the unit is physically installed.
- Carefully check the installation location and last location to make sure you select the correct vehicle.
-
In Vehicle Plan, select the vehicle’s assigned plan.
-
Click Assign to selected vehicle.
Unassign a unit from vehicle/asset
- Admin > Ehubos.
- Find the Ehubo serial number that you want to unassign from a vehicle, and click Unassign.
- Click Yes on the confirmation message – this will unassign the unit from the vehicle.
Removing a unit
Removing a unit should only be conducted by accredited, authorized or experienced installers (depending on jurisdiction and/or contract). Read our Terms and Conditions or your service contract for details.
- In MyEROAD > Admin > Ehubos, find the unit and Unassign it from its vehicle.
- Power down the vehicle.
- Remove power to accessories to the unit, eg. rollover alert sensors, door sensors, dashcams, etc.
- Remove power to the unit.
-
Disconnect the unit.
- AVOID CUTTING CABLES (unless the unit is free-wired to the vehicle and cutting wires is appropriate)
- Remove electrician’s tape around connection points; unplug mated connectors, or otherwise disconnect the unit appropriately.
- Record the unit’s serial number for reference.
Swap-out (RMA) a unit
A Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) is a designation that a unit needs to be returned to EROAD for servicing, repair, or decommissioning. At the same time, EROAD normally replaces the unit.
- If a unit is suspected of being faulty or otherwise qualifies for an RMA, contact EROAD Support.
- We may remote-run diagnostics, direct on-site people to run unit diagnostics, run a change management process or send an agent to check it (depending on jurisdiction/service plan obligation).
-
If the unit appears to be faulty, EROAD will work with you to fix it on-site (if possible) or decommission it. This may involve:
- Running performance tests
- Removing a unit (see above)
- Receiving an installer agent who will take care of the whole process.
- Package the unit up – ideally in bubblewrap or crushed paper – and send it to your EROAD service center.
Assessing units for faulty performance should be conducted professionally.
Installs
The Installs page is a new view for your GPS trackers (excluding dashcams) that provides a better view and feedback around installing units.
In order for you to view or try the new Installs page, you must have:
-
Checked the agreements in My Organisation > Activate the new Install experience > Edit.
-
Been assigned Financial Permission role.
The Installs view is geared towards fast-cure operation, with direct on-site actions and self-help recommendations.
If a unit is in an error state, the page breaks down the specific problem, advises action, and if a line item is selected, opens a panel with specific actions and links.
