Assisted RUC presents vehicle odo data reported by the EROAD Locate unit to MyEROAD, so customers have compliance assurance for their Light vehicles using paper Road User Charge labels.
Assisted RUC makes it easier for fleets who use paper RUC labels to stay RUC compliant.
- Shows your RUC distance remaining in real time.
- Enables the manual purchase of paper labels when required.
- Enables AutoRUC, the automatic purchase-and-post of new labels when running low*
* Available only on the EROAD locate as it reads the odometer value directly from the vehicle - so it's always in sync.
With Assisted RUC, Locate data is used by MyEROAD to compare against the vehicle’s last RUC purchase. Vehicle owners may view the remaining RUC distance for a selected vehicle, and be notified that additional RUC is due if the vehicle’s licenced RUC falls below a minimum threshold.
Assisted RUC also has AutoRUC. If the vehicle’s RUC license falls lower than the remaining threshold, customers may automatically purchase an additional licence.
When purchased, owners are posted Paper RUC display labels.
Need to know’s
Note: Owners must make their first RUC purchase through MyEROAD to see their latest label.
Note: To configure autoRUC, you first need to purchase a label through the EROAD platform. This enables EROAD to synchronise your current RUC label details.
- EROAD Locate uses distance readings from the vehicle’s physical odometer.
- The Assisted RUC re-purchase notification threshold is 2000 km. If the vehicle’s existing RUC-licenced distance falls below this, vehicle owners will see updates on the RUC licences screen, and receive a RUC expiry notification, if activated.
- The maximum RUC re-purchase distance is 5000 km.
For a user to receive email notifications of RUC, amend the user’s preferences at Admin > Users > [select user] > Manage Notifications, then select the pertinent RUC notifications.
- Purchases made outside of MyEROAD will not be reflected in MyEROAD’s system. If you make a RUC continuation purchase directly through the NZTA or a 3rd party agency, you must purchase an overlap licence to re-sync EROAD’s assistance with your RUC compliance.
- Off-road distances are exempt from RUC and are excluded from distance recordings using GPS-based geofences.
