Virtual Speed Camera

Virtual Speed Cameras allow you to identify speeding issues in real time and better manage driver behaviour. You can set a geofence with a custom speed limit for a designated area of risk such as a depot, school or black spot. If a driver exceeds the speed limit in this area you will be notified by an email in real time.

You can manage geofences from the "Geofences" section in the Administration area of the Activity screen.

  • A geofence needs to be at least 250 metres in diameter to allow the EROAD unit to detect activity in the geofence.
  • The maximum size of a geofence is 25 square kilometres.
  • Users with only the basic role can view but not create, edit or remove geofences.
  • When a vehicle exceeds the Virtual Speed Camera speed limit an email notification will be sent to designated recipients who have access to the vehicle’s fleet.
